Bio

     I am a 28 year old artist, currently living in Nashville, Tennessee.  My style, subject matter, and media cover a fairly wide array, as I am constantly exploring and experimenting.  Ranging from photo-realistic to abstract, I have worked in pencil, china marker, ink, oil, acrylic and pastel.  In addition, I have developed an interest in digital photography, and even more recently, the airbrush. 

     I was born in Texas, but have lived in the Nashville area for most of my life.  My love of art started early, sitting on the kitchen floor drawing with crayons.  In third grade, I used to draw my own versions of the then popular Garbage Pail Kids cards, which my classmates then started buying from me.  Like most kids, I went on drawing as a fun distraction for a few years, but I never really considered myself to be very good.  I went to Mt. Juliet High School, where I took both art classes that were available.  By the time I graduated in 1996,  I had definitely noticed some improvement in my skill level.  However, I still considered it to be just a fun pastime activity.  After high school, I attended the University of the South in Sewanee, TN.  Here my skills really began to blossom and develop.  After taking a Beginning Drawing class with Ed Carlos, I realized I had done much better than I expected, and I decided to major in studio art.

     I graduated from Sewanee in 2000 with a BA.  In August of 2001, I got married and now live in East Nashville with my wife, Jennifer.  I have been actively involved in Nashville's art scene for close to two years now.  I am a member of both Plowhaus Artists' Cooperative and Untitled Artists' Group and am on the board for Untitled.
